I suggest you look at the list of the entire top 1000. A large number seem to have open enrollment meaning that they are local neighborhood schools.

One could argue that the firms handling the IPO did a great job pricing it since it closed just a fraction about the IPO price on the first day of trading. The price had been raised a couple times during the IPO process and more shares were added.

It seems that all that BS about certain liberal states having such better schools than many of the conservative right-to-work states, many of them in the south, is pure nonsense.

China built a whole city, Shenzen, to do manufacturing operations. It is estimated that Foxconn (Apple's contract manufacturer) has around 300,000 employees in just that one location. That could never be duplicated in the U.S.

roc - I think you nailed it. When a government has no more money to spend because it cannot borrow any more, severe austerity hits overnight, just like in Greece. Debt bubbles are just like all economic bubbles, eventually they break.

You cannot pay off any of the national debt until you eliminate the annual federal budget deficit. It is not likely that will ever happen due to the size of current deficits.

Corporations, like individuals, pay income tax. They don't make a profit in the countries with lower cost structures, the income is made in the countries in which they sell those products, including the U.S.
